Cheney, Washington- EWU is coming off a 48-13 road win over Northern Colorado. A game where the Eagles dominated the first half and didn’t look back racking up 562 total offensive yards. The fifth-ranked Eagles will face the fourth-ranked UC Davis Aggies on Saturday at Roos Field. EWU, (7-2,5-1 Big Sky). UC Davis is entering Cheney as the only undefeated team in the Big Sky Conference Play (8-1, 6-0)
“Both teams entering this battle have earned the right for this game to be very important, they all mean the same, but some are just more important than others.” Eagles head coach Arron Best said about the importance of this game.
The Eagles have won all six of their last meetings against UC Davis. With their current record, this will be the twelfth straight season that the Eagles will finish 5-3 or better in the conference.
Kickoff for Saturday is set for 1:05 P.M. PST at Roos Field in Cheney.
The following are scenarios to crown the Big Sky Champion:
- Eastern beats UC Davis and Portland State and finishes 7-1, and ISU wins out, Eastern Washington earns the auto bid.
- If UC Davis wins out, they received the automatic bid based on potential tiebreakers with Weber State or Idaho State.
- If UC Davis loses to EWU and finishes 7-1, and EWU and WSU win out, Weber State is the auto bid.
- If UC Davis and Weber State are the only 7-1 teams the next tiebreaker would be their record against common opponents since they did not play each other.
